I was looking for a tokarev TT-33 and found this one...

Somebody told me that this particular one I wanted wasnt a romanian but a chinese import. Just wanted to know if it is a romanian or a chinese. also is the price a good price for this gun ($274).

p.s. how would i be able to tell the difference if I go to a gun store and they try to "pull one over on me".

p.s.s. I also live in the PEPOPLES REPUBLIC OF California..... and i got a C&R

www.world.guns.ru/handguns/hg20-e.htm Not sure if this helps but heres a link to a page with Tokarev info.
I'm no expert on this but a buddy of mine bought a Chicom Tokarev variant recently it was chambered in 9x19. It said Made in China by Norinco on one side of it. TOK 213 on the other side. Google could yield more info.

That one is Romanian, you can tell by the placement of the safety. Not a horrible price. If you have a C&R, why don't you order direct from the wholesaler? You might save yourself $50 or so.

The one in your link is Romanian clone. Chinese clone has its safety at the back of right grip penal.

Here is my Norinco Type 54-1 (China Tok). With its safety removed.

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with either the Romanian or the Chinese Tokarevs. They're both extremely accurate firearms, and made to the same quality level. You'll be extremely happy with either, in my opinion. The Chinese ones look distinctly different from normal Tokarevs, however. They have a safety at the upper rear of the grip instead of the addon trigger safety that the Romanian ones have.

Good Tokarevs run from $250 to $300. So the $274 price is certainly within the acceptable price range for that package.

cool..thanks for all your input you guys!!! Now the hard part..telling the wife im going to get another gun.
