I am still finding stuff. I’m not actively looking for it, but I’m finding stuff. I posted a gun for sale locally and the first offer I got on it was a mix of cash and reloading supplies. Turns out that the guy has things I want. Deal struck, meeting him Saturday. That’s 38 spl brass and bullets, 223 brass and bullets, and 2/3 my asking price in cash. Everything priced out at normal prices for the trade. Got another offer from a different guy, asked if I reload and if I was interested in what he had stock of. I don’t need his stuff but he needs mine so we are still talking. Again, normal pricing. I understand this is the private secondhand market, but it doesn’t really matter. Public market... I needed some 223 bullets before I made the trade agreement mentioned above. Went straight to Gunbroker because I knew the big name shops were sold out. Searched “.224 bullet” and then filtered to buy it now and listed price low to high. Sure enough, quality bullets listed for $16 per hundred and shipping was reasonable. I bought 4 boxes because that put me at a good spot for what I want to do right now. After the trade listed above I will be even better off. Primers, I have swapped around a lot lately getting small rifle for large rifle and large pistol. I need a few small pistol but I’m confident that I can find them and swap something for them at a sane pricing level. Powders are more available than anything else in my area, I can likely make 2 or 3 trips to academy and get a pound or two of something that will work for what I want to load.
