Ok I'm sure one of you will make a joke but here it goes.

My cousin Jose and I went to the range this weekend and we also took my other cousin Jose who had never been shooting.

Well an Ak, AR, 12ga shotgun, .40, 1911 and several hundred rounds later I think he will soon have a new hobby.

I was really impressed how well he shot too. He shot well with everything even the pistols.

Also I was shooting standard slugs out of a Fully choked (Rem Chokes)barrel and hitting consistently at 100 yds

And cousin the new guy was hitting really well at 50.

Also with the slugs they were shooting flat at 100 yds I was aiming straight and they were hitting what I was pointing at

Congrats! I like to get at least two shooters involved per year. It just makes for good shooting buddies, and good times.
2 cousins named Jose though? Thats awesome. It reminds me a little of Larry and his brother darryl and his other brother darryl.

Uh oh, he'll learn to hate you in time once he discovers how fast you can go broke doing this. :)

Kudos for taking a new shooter out and getting him excited about it. I would advise not making a habit of shooting slugs through a full choke, however.

[Kodiaz to rangemaster] I'm _____, This here's my cousin Jose, and this is my other cousin Jose [/Kodiaz] :)

Congrats on converting a new shooter.

Hey, you gotta start with somebody, may as well be family. As far as the Jose and Jose thing, we had two men who worked with us at my plant. Jose Medina and Jose Medina. No, I'm not kidding, and they also were cousins. We called them Hose A and Hose B.

abtomat, exactly! I just cursed out my friend who got me started on handgunning 10 years ago about how much money i've wasted. I left him alone for 10 minutes with my 1895G and he managed to pop off 40 rounds of buffalo bore factory ammo instead of my "cowboy" handloads. And i know he knew the difference. Then he wouldn't let me shoot his .460 wetherby, because it was "expensive to reload." Some friend. And now he has me hooked on XTP bullets and h110. At least it is cheaper than golf and powerboating, i keep telling myself. Doesn't mean i'm happy he shot up 80 bux of ammo while i was taking his car to his house to pick up the water jugs he forgot to put in the trunk. (He did let me shoot a ton of 9mm, .45acp, 44 mag, 22-250 in the very beginning, so i probably still owe him.)

Its kinda funny, how in the very beginning i lusted for .50AE, .300 win mag, 12 guage high brass and slugs, .454 casull, etc. And now, the lowly .22LR holds my interest at gun stores. That .22 in the "another brownie shoots the purple AR" thread is looking mighty tempting. If it isn't money spent on ammo, it is money spent on firearms. Grrr.
