Yesterday I took my 11-year old daughter to the range for the first time.

We shot my Pietta 1851 Colt Navy. All shots were fired from 25 yards using 15 grains of 3F Goex, ox-yoke wad and a .376 round ball from Dixie Gun Works.

She used a two-handed stance.

Here's her target (see below). For someone who has never shot a gun before, I think she did great! She had a wonderful time and wants to go again...soon!!

That's super!!!

Had my 12-year old daughter out, well, she was 11 with a day to go, with my .44 1860, but she was wanting to hold it in front of the cylinder so I could not let her shoot it. :what: However, we will be trying with my Wells Fargo, since I found she could work that one correctly.

So kudos to you for getting your daughter out to shoot. I bet you two had a great time doing it.

And oh yes, let your daughter see that others are happy here for you two. :D

The Doc is out now.

Awesome shooting my friend, I wish I could get my oldest "14 years old" to want to shoot my Revolvers & or my rifles "doesn't like the smoke & cap frags hitting her hand," but my 6 year old loves to shoot with me cept she doesn't like my 5.5" Remmy repro "kicks too hard" & she can shoot pretty good conciddering her small hands "I have to help her hold my pistols but the rifle she just uses the bench & holds on to it."
