Took my wife shooting for the first time yesterday:), she did very, well a buddy of mine did the safety briefing, she took it all in.

He then took her through using an .22lr AR which she loved and then on to a .45acp De lisle copy thats been modified to use Hi-Cap Glock mags:evil: not many folks have used one of them before, let alone on their first time shooting, I'm very proud of her.... even though she is now talking about getting her own gun in 'pink' or 'red':eek:

Now if I can just get my girlfriend to go shooting. Heck, I would be ok with with a pink or red gun (for her ;))

Good for you!

Us Ladies also love to shoot!! I fired my first gun at 14-years-old, and never looked back. I'm sure once she has a gun that she can call her own, and that fits her hand, you will have a hard time keeping her from the range. Just ask my hubby :D

Pink guns are not all bad. This is what we did for my daughter's gun.

OH AWESOME!!!

TX1911Fan: How did you do that?? I would love to get red grips for my CZ P-01.

I bought Duracoat from this site: http://www.houtsenterprises.net/.

You can get virtually any color you want. I bought their starter kit, taped off the parts of the grip I didn't want painted, and sprayed away. Worked like a charm. They have camo kits available too.

You're a lucky man Boomstick and I congragulate you in your efforts, for taking your wife out,for a days fun shooting and found that she loved it.Unfortunately for me,that is a long bridge that I will have to cross or fall of of-eventually,because my girl won't even come with me to a shooting range.

Pink as a colour,I suppose is alright,if you are a female or a Julian Clary.:):)Very unconventional,though.:):)

My wife brought a 12 gauge of her own into the marriage, routinely out shoots me at the skeet range, and also adds her share of dear to the freezer.

*sigh* it's not all it's cracked up to be boys, especially when she outguns you....

.... or steals your guns!! ;) My hubby is very close to losing his AR-15 to me! :D

nah, my wife thinks they are ugly(ARs), and actually prefers her SKS.(her's!!)
she didn't like the wood, so I got her a sythetic monte carlo stock, and she's happy. like's my sig 226 too.

While that's a great looking application, I can only pray my wife never sees it. If she did that to one of our Sigs I might have to cry.

At the range, who cares what color it is, so long as the shooter enjoys shooting it.

In order for our sport to survive, the old fogies need to allow and encourage new shooters, including whatever color gun they want, and to shoot it however they want within the confines of safety.
