Hello all,

I have a Bushmaster XM15E2S HBAR carbine, and a small "situation". I've got the 1911 bug real bad. I want to get a 1911, it was the first gun i purchased and stupidly sold it. They just fit right for me. I also have a Beretta 96FS.

I've been thinking, and I have come up with several options.....

1. Sell the Beretta, get $330 and use that to put down on a Charles Daly Poylmer Hi Cap .45.......I'll have to pay about $100 extra on the .45. Only down side is that I won't have a carry gun until i pick up the .45.

2. Sell the AR, get $700, and buy the .45, use the extra to buy a nice Rem. 700 or Winchester 1300.

3. Sell both the AR and 96FS and get a bunch of money, and then get the .45, and a bolt gun/shotgun.

And finally......

4. Keep all i've got and just wait till money i more abundant.

I'm really stumped. Don't know what to do. Please help me with some ideas folks. Thanx in advance for any ideas.

Jon

PS...
What do you folks think about a G3 sporter from CIA? That's an option also......GRRRRRR.

Number 4 is the ticket. Save your clams and buy what you want later. Resist the urge to sell. You may regret it. In my experience, I have always regretted selling my firearms. Hope this helps

Another option might be to put a WTT ad up in the For Sale/Trade forum and try to trade your Beretta for a 1911. I imagine you could probably trade the 96FS straight up for a used entry-level 1911.

Option #4

Notice how you sold your 1911 and now regret it ? Don't make that mistake again. Keep ALL your guns and buy more when you get the cash. No more regrets.

Trade off a Beretta for a Charles Daly??? YIKES!!!

Like trading in a Ferarri for a Yugo.

sell the AR & Beretta...

and buy yourself a nice new 1911 ! and save the extra cash..

this way you wont have too many guns accumulating, only keep what you
will use the most, dont keep guns that dont get used = waste of money.

Then when you really want something you can just buy it, dont spend all
your money on one thing.

Sell an AR??? Are you crazy. I'd sell parts of my family before my AR... wait till you get the cash... and keep the AR. Living without my AR is like living without air... Ok maybe thats a little extreme... but I would sell parts of my family before the AR... I have an uncle and a couple cousins for sale... anyone up for a trade? :D

For a little over $400 I'd like to recommend the SA Milspec .45's over the Charles Daly.

Or for slightly more, the NRM (New Rollmark) Colt Governments are taking the cake! I have one that I'm absolutely in love with.

But save up and buy... I would never sell the beretta or the Bush if I was in your position.

Good luck

I agree that #4 is the best option. With the current atmosphere surrounding 'assault weapons?' I wouldn't sell either of my AR's. I love these guns and don't want to risk never being able to replace them. If anything I'd sell the Beretta. I prefer a .45 over a .40 anyday. I agree with the others about your choice of .45 manufacturers. Do some research on this board and others to determine where you'll get the most for your $$. Good luck bro!!

Shabo

I agree ... don't sell unless you have to. Especially the AR. Given the huge push to ban more and more guns you may not be able to replace your AR later if you wanted to.

keep all your guns and just SAVE $$$$$$$$. Dont sell to buy another. I have made that mistake far to many times and end up regretting getting rid ofthe one i did, Just keep what you have and save for it. Its not going anywhere.

Im with the rest of you guys, save your money and keep what you have.
If you must sell a weapon, are you in a situation where you may be attacked or someother? Do you carry for that "rainy day" or do you carry because your situation *may* produce monsoons at a moments notice?
(IE you live in a bad part of town, ect.)
If your just an average Joe, I dont see the harm in not carrying for a month or two while you save for the 1911.

I sold a gun once to upgrade to a better one. While I like the better one MUCH more I still wish I had that old mini 14. Eh, I guess in the end it was justifiable.

Like Knife_Sniper said, even though he got rid of the Mini14, and still says it was justified. He still wishes he still had it. I look back and think of all the guns i sold just to get another, and regret most of them. Should have just saved up for them, and i would have a nice collection by now.

Waste of money? Are you nuts?

It's not like they're a drain on the cash flow.

Not to mention there's no such thing as too many guns accumulating.

What a crazy idea. :uhoh:

I vote for option 4. Save up for what you want. You probably will regret selling the AR.

Option 4 Bro, other wise you're gonna look silly trying to kick yourself in the a#$ for selling off your guns.
