Blackwater, Moyock, NC, about 30 miles south of Virginia Beach on RT 168 on the way to the Outer Banks. They offer a mind boggling list of courses, give them a look up.
I'm in NoVA. I've been browsing the blackwater list and then thier website went Tango-Uniform....I did get to see the prices and classes, but not the schedule.
Insights Training offers classes in NoVA. I've seen Steve Silverman of Firearms Research and Instruction (FRI) make trips there from time to time. John Farnam will make an occasional trip to NoVA.
Quantico hosts a large number of itinerant trainers throughout the year. I don't recall off the top of my head the name of the club at Quantico that hosts them, but I know many of the nationally recognized trainers have offered classes there.
I'd start looking there before I went to Blackwater. Many of Blackwater's courses and instruction is geared towards professionals with duties to perform - Peace Officers, government agencies, contractors. Yes . . . before anyone comes along and points out they offer classes to the Armed Citizen . . . Yes, they do. That instruction is also structed along the lines of a military style of delivery.
These ones I mentioned have much more experience training Armed Citizens. If you're looking for training targeted to the government contractor or Law Enforcement, Blackwater is the king of the game in VA. The Armed Citizen has better options.
Moving a bit further away... Harrisburg, PA is not that far from NoVa. A number of nationally known trainers stop there.
Louis Awerbuck seems to be in Durham, NC every year, but it's usually in late May, so you've missed your opportunity for 2007.
