Trap Shooting advice

If you are looking at the sight (bead) once you call Pull, or the bird rises, you will lose the target. With clays and live birds, the shooter's focus must be on the target, and only the target. This is why gun fit is so important, as kudu said.

I have a 26in pump Imp Cyl shotgun. It's the only shotgun I own. I hope to use it for Pheasant.
Buddy wants to go trap shooting. Will this gun work shooting trap? Like the closest shooting line to the trap house?

If your intent is to tune up for pheasant I'd say use this gun and the same shot that you will use for pheasant!

If your intent is to learn the game of Trap I'd say join a club that has regular matches, get a coach and borrow one of the loaner guns until you can decide what you want. Otherwise lots of good suggestions above.

Trap is just about the most fun you can have standing up!

Smiles,

Go shoot a couple rounds of trap with your shotgun. All your trying to do is get some wing shooting practice before your hunting trip. The IC choke is not ideal but your not in competition. Just get on the birds quick.
