The Amazon delivery lady that dropped off Lovey's present today was curious about the old house and place. Turns out she's a hobby metal detector treasure hunter and likes to search old properties, which this one is. Told her about my lost Mini Barrage that I'm convinced is somewhere in the yard as I lost it mowing. She's going to come back and search around where I thought most likely it is. Wish me luck, I really liked that knife and would love to get it back. I'll let her have access to the rest of the place too. Maybe she'll find another one for me.

I just went through this though thankfully I didn't have to resort to a metal detector. I lost my Spyderco Endura somehow while outside working. I'd been over several acres of ground since last I could remember using my knife so I had to trudge back and back, back and forth, back and forth every place I had gone hoping to find it. No dice. Carried that knife for years and I was thoroughly bent, but it was gone.

Found it in my dirt driveway two days later after we'd had a lot of hard, heavy rain. Can't conceive of how it got exactly where I found it as I cannot recall having crossed that part of the driveway during that time. Maybe the rain washed it down from where I park my truck, I don't know. Nevertheless I was mighty glad to find it again! In the interim I had started looking for a new one and was appalled at how expensive they have become!

Hope she finds yours! My thinking on handle color has been evolving. Those bright orange or yellow knives are starting to look better to me! (laughing)

Here are a couple of newer Eafengro knives. I have had the orange one about a year. I just received the tanto today.
They seem pretty good for the $$.
The orsnge scaled one is my new hunting knife.
The black scaled tanto is a defensive edc.

When I was going to the University of Alabama, my back yard was the site of an antebellum mansion that was burned down by the Yankees when they destroyed the college..
You wouldn't believe what-all I found there just while digging the garden, never mind what was was found with metal detectors... .
