Treso nipples

It appears that October Country has the Treso 11-50-15 (12 X 28) in stock but I'm not sure if they're the right ones.
The Treso part number options are listed under the heading quoted below:
Treso Nipples T/C #11 cap, CVA #11 cap, Ruger Old Army No Hex, ITA Walker, T/C Patriot-Seneca & Colt Model 11-50-01 11-50-03 11-50-05 11-50-12 11-50-13 11-50-15 11-50-17 11-50-66

Thanks, guys, for your help.
Will the Treso nipples put an end to having to
squeeze caps? Or are caps inconsistent enough
that I should buy #10's and continue to
squeeze them?

'TRESO' seem to be very good Nipples by all accounts ( 'The Possibles Shop' may have them in stock ), but, regardless, one still has to find Caps of specific make and Size to fit.

I only have a few .44 Cap & Ball Revolvers, and, Remington No. 10 Caps fit all mine just fine with no fussing.

You might do well to try some smaller Size Caps, and to try different Brands of that size, to find what will be best for your Revolver.

This can be a hassle...for sure.

But once you have it sorted out, you are 'done'.

I believe the correct thread for the Uberti 1862 Pocket Navy is 12X28. Treso makes several different nipples with that thread; they vary in overall length and in the distance from the thread seat to the tip of the nipple cone. You should use the one with the shortest cone. This is important not only for clearance between the cylinder and the frame but for proper geometry between the hammer face and the nipple.

Unfortunately the suttlers (including Treso) don't specify the cone height, preferring instead to use an imprecise and often erroneous reference to the type or model of gun.

The shortest cone I'm aware of in a Treso 12X28 thread nipple is Treso's part number 11-50-16; the 11-50-12 in the October Country catalog is for the Ruger Old Army, a much larger gun and cylinder. I would be concerned that the -12 might result in interference between the cylinder and the frame in a Pocket Navy.

October Country doesn't offer the -16. Track of the Wolf's version of the -16 is listed under Track's catalog number PCC-A, which is unfortunately not currently in stock.

The Log Cabin shop sells a set of 6 of the -16's under their catalog number 231025U. You'll have to call them to see if they're in stock.

Jedediah Starr also carries the -16, using the Treso part number. Again, you'll need to call to see if they're in stock. By the way, Starr uses the metric thread specification 5.5x0.9, which is equivalent to 12x28.

Thanks again. The reason for my original post
is that I'm experiencing "hammer bounce" which
puts the exploded cap way down deep in front
of the hammer and the whole thing locks up. I've
read that this is a common problem with the pocket
Navy and the pocket Sheriff. I thought possibly
that a nipple change would fix this but would hate
to buy new nipples only to find out that it doesn't.
I think I'm going to get rid of it and save myself
the potential aggravation. Thanks again for all your
help and advice.

Smaller diameter inside hole of the Nipples...might make for less Hammer bounce...

Does it 'bounce' if only firing a Cap on an empty Cylinder?

If not...then that might work...just a guess...

treso

The Treso made for the Ruger Old Army will work in the Uberti, and as long as the strike will set off the cap, it will produce less damage to thje hammer and nipple with use or dry fire/strikes on a fired chamber.
