Hi, i would like to have some advice about a good trigger job for my pistol STI target master. It comes from the box with a trigger of 3.75 almost 4 pounds.
Is it possible without to change pieces to have a trigger of 2.5 - 3 pounds?
Thank you for your help.

If the pistol is going to do SD duty it is not recommended to lighten past 4 pounds but if its for target and range only, then bend back the sear spring some to relieve some of the sear resistance on hammer hooks, after try dry firing, and release the slide on empty chamber, if hammer fallows bend forward some until hammer ceases to fallow.

shoot safe, shoot straight, and have fun

2.5 - 3 pounds?
IMO: No.

A trigger that light on a box stock 1911 is not going to be safe.

It can be done on a race gun, but 2.5 pounds is too light to even be legal in NRA centerfire competation with a 1911.
Legal minimun is 3.5 pounds.

There is nothing at all wrong with a 3.5 - 4.0 trigger if it breaks crisp & clean without creep.
