1st post! I am the proud new owner of a Ruger Alaskan in 454. It is a joy to shoot with the 45 Colts (for sighting in), and an attention getter with Speer 300 gr gold dot hollow points. Like many others, I don't like the front blade so I fired off an email to Trijicon. Here was the exchange:

Do you make any sights that will fit a Ruger Alaskan? thank you

Dear Gary,
Thank you for your inquiry and I do apologize for the delay in response. We do not offer Trijicon Night Sights for that application and there are no plans to produce them. If you have any question please feel free to contact us.

Wow. 17 days to reply. I had long since given up. I have a milling machine, and after a little looking, I found 1.5mm by 5mm tritium glow tubes and have ordered 2. I plan to put on a Meprolight rear and make my own front (with one spare). I got the tubes off candlepower forums in the for sale section. You can also get optical clarity, UV curing glue there. I know it's not going to be easy, but I think it can be done. I am really more curious about the tube withstanding the recoil. I already glow; I was a "nuke" in the Navy. I'll post the results.
Thank you,
Gary
