Howdy, gang.

I'm taking my wife to Vegas for our fifth wedding anniversary. I've never been, though.

Can any of you guys recommend a good range to visit while I'm there? I've heard that you can fire automatic weapons at a few and I've always wanted to fire a M1A1 Thompson.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Just a little word of advice from a guy that had his 5th on Friday--unless your wife is a shooter too, maybe you should forego the "range" this time around. Some wives don't like being left alone on their special occasions.

Naahh ... here's the secret -- just book her some "spa time." While she's getting soaked in mud, having her nails painted, etc., you can sneak off the range for a little rock 'n roll.

And I second The Gun Store recommendation. If I go to Vegas with $500 to burn, I'll spend all of it there before even thinking about the casinos.

Yeah, that's the plan (mutually agreed. We don't "sneak" ;) .). She's not a shooter but she doesn't begrudge me my range time.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll definitely check out The Gun Store.

I was in Vegas last month and went to The Gun Store and fired their M1A1. It was great, and the people there were very helpful, friendly, and professional. I highly recommend it.

Last year when I went I fired the M249 SAW, Thompson, and MP5. I was most impressed by the 249 and "underwelmed" by how easy the MP5 is to fire and stay on target. The MP5 makes it too easy. The Thompson was cool too, but you can tell that thing has been shot to death.
