I just purchased a new Tristar C 100 cerecoat chrome finish.. after reading much reviews. This is a very reliable midsize .40 for budget minded enthusiast. A little heavy, the pistol is all steal. The pistol comes with two 11 round magazines. I can only squeeze 10 rounds into them. I received the pistol on Friday the 19th. I then went to the gun show in Tyler, Texas today" Saturday the 20th". I purchased a full size Mec-gar 14 rnd magazine for the CZ .40 SP 01, in which the seller " T and G sales" from " The Colony, Texas" advised me that the magazine would work. I then went to the range, " Hi Way 31 West " shooting range to test the new pistol and magazine. The 14 round magazine locked in the magazine well just fine, with about an inch hanging out below the magwell. I was very impressed...! The 14 round magazine functioned flawlessly. The pistol functioned flawlessly. My best groups were Winchester 155 grain Ranger "T' series with 2 1/2 inch groups at 25 yards. My worst groups were 4" groups at 25 yards with 165 grain reloads of xtream bullets with 4.7 grains of Bullseye. seated at overall length of 1.120- 1.132.This pistol does not like copper plated bullets I guess. For a midsize pistol with zero malfunctions, I thought that it was a very good purchase for $409.00. The Tristar C100 .40 S&W is a very good self defense mid-range priced pistol, in which can be purchased for $280.00 in 9mm at Academy. The sites were perfectly zeroed straight from the box, and it fits in my Bianchi model 82 " Sig P229" holster just fine with no movement.

I've had mine about 2 years....shoot the crap out of it...glad 9mm ammo is back to normal in price....this gun is a real shooter...

I have two C100's in 9mm, no problems and no complaints.

You can buy some mag spacer from Greg Cote, I believe, that will make the CZ extended mags look and fit better. I'll try to dig up my old order.....

Congrats on the new gun. I have the Tristar C100 in both 380 Auto and 9mm, sweet guns. Next purchase might be the C100 in 40 S&W. The 380 is purely for range use while the 9mm is one of my carry guns. The 9mm stuffs 15 rounds in the magazine.

FYI: I had a binding slide on the 380 model which I sent to Tristar for repair. They got the gun, removed a spur, replaced the slide stop, test fired the gun and returned it the same day they received it. Great customer service by any measure.

Forgot to mention, my 9mm is the "chrome" finish while the 380 is in blue. I gave $350 +tax for the 9mm from Sportsman Warehouse, a west coast big box retailer. Cheaper on-line but you have to dish out the bucks for shipping and FFL transfer fees on top of taxes.

My chrome C100 in 9mm weighs 953 grams with the magazine loaded with 15 rounds of 147 grain Hornady XTP bullets. It's frame is an alloy. My C100 in 380 Auto weighs 1075 grams with 14 in the magazine with 90 grain Hornady XTP's. It's frame is steel. The 380 is slightly smaller than the 9mm version.

By the way, the Canik55 web site has more information than the Tristar web site on the C100's. Tristar does not show the C100 in 380 Auto yet it is on the Canik55 site. Apparently, Tristar no longer puts their name on or imports the 380 model.

I took delivery last Friday of a TriStar L120...the 100's bigger brother. Had it to the range on Saturday and I think it will take a bit more shooting before I can truly evaluate it. Functioned just fine...but I want to ditch the plastic grips (Pacs coming tomorrow) and break it in a bit more.

I was also trying out a Beretta 92s and switching between the two guns was interesting. The Beretta has a much better double action trigger, in single action they are about the same; the Beretta is heavier, and neither has great sights. So far, I like the Beretta better, but I've been shooting it longer as well as practicing with my Beretta 1951 and Taurus Pt99....all similar guns. (And just for fun I bring their grandpappy....my P-38/P1).

I did get a good buy on GunBroken....and only paid $248.00.
