Hey y'all,
Hoping someone out there knows something about these seemingly well-regarded CZ clones that are supposedly NATO-spec and durable.

Having some issues with the extractor on my C100 .40s&w model, specifically the pin that holds it in trying to work itself out and allow the extractor to come out. Can't find a manual or exploded view online to see if maybe I'm missing a spring(?).

Can't figure out how or why the pin would be able to work its way out the top of the slide. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

You gun isn't really a clone -- it's a "CZ pattern gun" -- and may be more like the Tanfoglio versions of the CZ than the CZ. Very much based on the same design, but unlikely to have parts interchangeability for most parts.

On the standard CZ, the pin channel holding the extractor in place is tapered, and the pin must be installed from the underside of the slide; the taper naturally holds the pin in place. It sounds as though YOURS is 1) not tapered, or, possibly 2) the pin was forced and the channel is no longer tapered enough to hold the pin in place. (I'm unfamiliar with the TriStar line, so this is a guess -- it may be that the TriStar doesn't use a tapered channel to hold the extractor pin in place...)

"Staking" the pin (using something [like the corner of a chise0 to cut or expand the pin's head (and, perhaps, its bottom) once installed, to hold it in place, might be a solution. A local gunsmith might be able to diagnose and resolve the issue pretty quickly. A roll pin would work, too, but some folks hate them. (They can be compressed to fit the space tightly.)

I have the Tristar C100 in both 380 Auto and 9mm and not have had any issues with this pin. I do, however, have another gun where the pin managed to pop out so it's definitely possible.

Tristar has outstanding customer service so a call to them should help.

Ok, so took it to McBride's gun store here in Austin to their gunsmith shop (or as I call it, Heaven on Earth) and got a fix for a very reasonable price.

I think he had to tap a little flare into one end of the pin (as it seemed to be cylindrical), and replace the escaped spring. No visible damage to the extractor or any indication why the pin backed out when it did (or why it ever would).

I have not seen an exploded view, so perhaps there was something to block the exit of the pin out the top of the slide that had already flown the coup...

Someone may have FORCED the pin out through top -- it's unlikely there was anything missing.

Sounds as though you got the problem fixed quickly (and, it seems, reasonably.)
