I am trying to remove the rear sight on my Beretta 92FS in order to install an adjustable sight. I have beat on the sight while in a vice and it won't budge. I'm trying to remove the sight right to left looking as if i'm shooting. Any suggestions?

Same here. I will probably take it to a smith. Interested to see what others say.

Dovetail Sights & Pins on guns traditionally drive Off or Out left to right.
On or In right to left.

Not that it will probably matter.
If you haven't been able to move it beating it the wrong way, it's probably not gonna move the right way either.

Beretta's are opposite

...

Beretta's are opposite most guns: Left-OFF, Right-ON as you look/point the gun to shoot.

Are you guys sure they don't have a very small allen-head or hex top screw holding them on?

Other than that, if not, go over to the Beretta forum for some advise..

Rear sights usually come off fairly easily. It's usually the fronts that create the real trouble.. But many of the 92's have fixed front sights, so they're permanent, cept for having them drilled for a glow-tube to be inserted.

Luck,

I know my HKs are removed from left to right, and I've been told that the Berettas are right to left, although I've never done it. Several smiths have told me that the Beretta sights are VERY tight and tough to remove without a sight pusher. Good luck!

I think i'll just buy a sight pusher from brownells and be done with it! I seem to have this trouble every time i want to change sights on my pistols. I understand the sight needs to stay put, but man do they wedge them in there sometimes! I thought i might be driving the sight the wrong way so i tried both ways and not a mm of movement either direction

Thanks for all the comments
