I just refinished my Ironwood Walnut stocks on my milled MAK90 with Tru-Oil and I think I'm about done with them, I put about 20 coats or Tru-Oil on them and 0000 Steel wool in between. All the pores are filled and the stocks are extremely shinny like glass. I was hoping to get it absolutely smooth with just he oil but even when the stock is 100% smooth I put on one last coat to bring back the shine and tiny little dust specs or what not are in the finish.

I am pretty content with it now, I've been working on it for about a week. I want to know if I should wax it and if that would get the perfect gloss I'm looking for. I've heard or people using Turtle Wax, Mother's Mag Polish, Birchwood Casey Gunstock Wax, or Johnson's Paste Wax.

What do you guys suggest?

Auto clear-coat rubbing compound on a soft rag.

Wear your sunglasses, cause you will need them when you get done.

I like lightly wet sanding with 2000 grit wet or dry paper, then the rubbing compound. Smooth as a babies a##

When applying the final coats of truoil apply the oil with heavy grade printer paper. Just wet the stock with the truoil, wrap the papper round it and squeegee it down. That little trick helped me get the finish perfectly smooth.

I didn't see much difference when I waxed mine.

Wet sand it with 1500-2000 wet dry paper and finish with clear coat polishing compound as previous posters have said. Here is how it looks.

I ended up using Meguiars PlastX on the finish then waxing it with Birchwood Casey Gunstock Wax and it looks pretty awesome. It looks kinna like glass.
