Trump on Gun Control

The Donald current ranks #2 in the field of Republican presidential candidates. Here's two quotes from him from 2000 (The America We Deserve, by D. Trump):

"The Republicans walk the NRA line and refuse even limited restrictions."

and

"I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun."

I can think of a lot of reasons to not support Trump; this is perhaps top of the list.

As a businessman, Trump ranks among the most shrewd. Politically, he's out of his league. He may rule the boardroom, but they'll eat him alive in Washington. He should stay out of it.
