funny you should ask...

I've recently been motivated to purchase .22 rifles for each of my six kids.
That really has more to do with politics than anything else.

Prior to that, I had basically achieved the level of changing the firearms I have always wanted into that which I currently own:
A good concealed carry pistol, a large capacity Soviet made assault rifle, a well made pump action shotgun, and an array of others that are just plain old fun to shoot and/or have some intrinsic value to me but really just came to me cheap and can be easily sold for a few hundred bucks if need be...

There are still plenty out there that I would really love to own, but times are tough and I don't buy unless it's a sick deal that I just can't pass up.

I also only "shop" for a gun when taxes come back...

Definitely, I've gone from gun guy to freedom guy, and choose my guns accordingly. If I have a need for specific firearm I buy it. I have sold almost all of my 'fun' guns. Nowadays I try to spend my shooting dollar on training, range time, etc.

We will very much start looking at reloading rather than new guns for a bit.

I can relate. I own a wide variety of rifles, shotguns and handguns in different calibers and styles. Now it is time for a reloading setup. I just want to shoot what I have more often.

Of course there are a few things on my must have list, but reloading is next.

I'm constantly playing catch up at the loading bench as it is.

I can relate to this statement...

I have the guns I need and then some...

The guns I want, I can't really afford...

I've managed to avoid the mil. surp. bug, but it's always calling me.

as of late, my purchases have been mostly gun smithing tools, as the need to tinker never goes away for this gear head.

Now I've got a bunch...and it seems that too many of them are "safe queens"... some unfired.. Beginning to wonder if I shouldn't become a little more practical, and down-size a bit. However, like the next guy, there are more that I want....might need to make some room....just doesn't seem right to have guns and not shoot them. Ah heck....can't seem to do it...I do need to be more practical, though...

Reload.....Maybe that's what I need to learn to do...

This is an easy one for me.
Why? Cause im on a fixed low income and every penny must count and be spent wisely.
I look at guns in 2 ways, Business and fun.
Business is CCW and HD.
Fun is what i main shoot at the range for fun and really has no other purpose.
From there i broke it down.

One shotgun for HD.
Two pistols for CCW, One large one small so all bases are covered.
Fun is .22lr's pistol and rifle and i allow only a max of 3 fun guns. I may add a Hi powered rifle that has low ammo prices at some point.

In order to get a new ccw i must trade one in or sell it first.
Same with fun guns, But luckily i still have one slot open. But i may make an exception and move that fun slot to allow a 3rd ccw.

I know most will disagree, But for me i have no use for more than 6 guns.
I also cant feed more than 6 guns, Ive tried it and they just sat there untouched.

Another odd rule i have is "All work/business guns must remain stock and untouched".
Except i will allow for better grips on my 1911 and a barrel guard on my shotgun.

I guess to me its all goals and limits. If i don't i wont enjoy my shooting and guns i own.

By doing this it allows me to afford ammo to shoot my CCW pistols a few times a month and to buy rather expensive .22lr ammo for my benchrest gun.
