I am trying to find out anything I can about this shotgun. I cant find any markings on it. I have no clue about this thing. All I know is it is a double barrel shotgun. I guess it is black powder or cap and ball. Something like that. I took a few pics. If a differnt pic would help let me know. Or what/where markings. All that my Dad could rember was that he thought the gun was made around 1890 or so.
OK, I guess the pics didnt work. Tell me if this link works.

It's a big red X.
Very common, unsafe to shoot, and not worth very much.
Hang it on the wall in rememberance.

More like 1850 than 1890. Do not try to fire this. Plus, many of these turn up still loaded. Use the ramrod to see if there's a charge still in there.

What you have is an inexpensive muzzleloading shotgun with generic back action locks, possibly Belgian and selling for a few dollars new.

It is an heirloom, hang it over the fireplace and admire it.
