I have a 5943TSW and a standard third generation 5946. To me, the triggers are about the same. Accuracy is also about the same with these two guns. Reliability? Never had a problem with either. Which do I like better? The non-TSW. Just can't get to liking that rail.
I know. I have a 4013TSW w/o the rail. I was merely commenting on current/recent production guns. I thought the rail would kind of grow on me as I worked with the gun (it didn't).
I am also interested in the triggers. Anyone else care to chime in on how the dao triggers feel -weight, travel etc... How do they compare to say an xd or glock trigger?
Not nearly as light as the Glock factory trigger. About the same as the NY1 trigger (I have that in my G22). With the S&W DAO trigger, you can count on a reasonably consistent pull throughout the course of the trigger travel. With Glocks, it's almost like a 2-stage triiger (this is because of the trigger safety). I also find that, with extended firing, the Glock trigger safety wears into my finger, although this is not a concern for defensive purposes. My XD9 trigger seems to be lighter than the Glock trigger and therefore the Smith trigger, however there does seem to be a pronounce mushy or spongy feel compared to the other two (this is not really so bad, the trigger safety does not do nearly as bad a number on my finger as the Glock). Don't have any experience with the Sig DAO trigger (all my Sigs are TDA).
