Tuckable is a Good Option - Even with drawbacks.

I have 2 different Tucker Texas Heritage holsters (1911 and revolver). They are the best I have found. I like the wide spacing of the clips (rather than just one or close together) so that it doesn't tilt or move around - which can happen no matter how stiff your belt.

That doesn't mean that I carry IWB or tucked every day. It might actually be easier if I did. What I mean is that IWB means that my pants, as well as my belt, have to be a size larger. The belt is no big deal -- that's why they have a series of holes instead of just one. It harder to have two sets of pants. As I filled in the waist of my pants with fat :uhoh: I have discovered the joy of OWB holsters. But those are limited to a cover garment (or open carry). I currently am trying to loose a couple of inches and return to my Tucker tuckers.

Nice blog, Rob. I hadn't noticed it before.

It's not a gut. It's a fuel tank for a sex machine. None the less, my own experience with carrying excess fat mirrors your own. I gained some weight last year and feel much better after losing it. Probably could stand to lose more, but not having a roll around the middle does make IWB carry much more comfortable.

I have a Tucker Leather holster - the one with the kydex attached to the leather with adjustable and replaceable clips.

When I first got it I hated it. I even considered sending it back but after I got it adjusted properly and broke in it turned out to be a very, very comfortable holster. I like it a lot - now.

For concealed carry when tucked though - not so good. The standard clips are huge and stick out like a sore thumb and anyone with half a brain knows what they mean or could figure it out.

If even 1 person in 100 makes you because of the clips and that one in a 100 is the bad guy...

The J and C clips aren't an option for me. The velcro thing might be but it's just too much trouble.

So I just use my Tucker Leather holster as a regular ole IWB. Which means I paid too much for what I got but such are the hazards of buying over the internet and not being able to actually touch, feel and tryout the product. Comes with the territory.

1. You didn't pay extra for the tuckable feature. All our IWB's are tuckable.
2. You paid for the best leather we could buy, a proven design and trusted maker.
3. If you find it comfortable and functional, how did you pay too much?

YES... I did. The attraction of Tucker Leather was the tuckable feature. I would never have paid $125 for an IWB leather holster. I've got an HBE that cost me a bit over $70 and is every bit as functional and just as comfortable as the Tucker. It was the tuckable feature that I purchased and the only reason I paid what I consider the +40 to 50 dollar premium over other holsters with just as good quality.

NO.. I paid for the tuckable feature. There are many IWB custom holsters made for much less that are just as good.

Because one can purchase other IWB holsters for 40 to 50 dollars less that are just as comfortable and just as functional as the one I got from Tucker.

The Tucker is a quality, well made and functional holster but I paid for the tuckable feature which I cannot use because the weapon becomes for all practical purposes unconcealed. Blousing the shirt doesn't hide the clips all the way and looks slovenly besides.

In my opinion the tuckable feature doesn't work well (and I suspect probably doesn't on any other tuckable made by other manufacturers either) and the $40 extra I paid wasn't worth it. I do use the holster regularly but not as a tuckable. It's value to me is $80 not $125. I would whole heartedly and without reservation recommend it at that price to anyone.

You can send the holster back for a full refund any time in the future.
Will that work for you? It just doesn't sound like you're a satisfied customer.
Just an offer.
Rob
