TulAmmo

Just a thought for an experiment, try running Brown bear. BB comes in both Lacquer and what you had -which was Polymer (TulAmmo dropped the lacquer, unfortunately) coated steel.
I'll try it if I can find it, but my reloads are so cheap the only ammo I buy is for SD.

I generally choose not to shoot with steel-case ammo in guns with extractors that I care about... regardless of 'the facts.'

For curiosity and amusement's sake, the last time I was at Wallyworld I asked the late 60s early 70s-year-old-lookin' gentleman behind the ammo counter what his opinion was on steel-cased ammo. He says "Aw we shot thousands of rounds of that stuff in 'Nam with no problems." I thanked him for his time in the service and just bought a few boxes of brass-cased FMJ. Then, I don't know why but after I finished my purchase, I asked him again, "You guys used steel-cased .45acp rounds in Vietnam??" and he replies "ahhh (sigh/grunt), I don't know what we used, but it was fine." Now I do not want to be disrespectful, but I told him to have a great day and walked away SO confused by that! Also laughed quietly to myself a bit... my father took a bullet in Vietnam, I have the utmost respect for our veterans. That being said I didn't know what to think of that conversation! LoL. I'm thinking he didn't know I was asking about steel-cased ammo at first, but it was an odd interaction. This isn't exactly the most relevant post ever, but I figure someone might get a chuckle out of it. -True story.

I got a chuckle out of your story because it is quite possible that that man fired STEEL CASED .45acp while in the U.S. military.....because the U.S. military used it.

Heck, Midway was selling Winchester STEEL CASED .45acp surplus last fall....still sealed in metal cans.

I got all 17 9mm in my mag, so far out of the two boxes ive shot, only two rounds wouldnt fit all the way and slide wouldnt close completely. Otherwise they worked fine for me

Tulammo is hardly any kind of premium ammo but don't see how it would only allow you to load 12 rounds in a 19 round mag???

Just couldn't force them in... I was even using a speed loader. They weren't sliding against each other and they weren't sliding against the walls of the mag.

Horrible. Can barely load 12 into my 19rd mags ..

I don't believe thats a problem of the Tula ammo. you should be able to load the mags to capacity like any other brand.

I do agree that Tula is a dirty ammo, but it is what it is: cheap. But i never had any issues with them on my XD40 or M&P pistols like you did.

I've had hit and miss luck with tula. My ar and. 45 glock feed it just fine. I had some issues in my lcp, but after a little more break in they seem to be working better.

Not bad for the price.

same here
Steel:
Works fine in - Springer XD9sc & XD45c, Walther PPS & P.1, SKS (obviously), surplus 7.62x25 & 7.62x39 and 9x18 guns
Doesn't work so great in - Sig P238, Citadel compact 1911, KelTec SUB2000, and other tighter guns
Haven't tried in - KT pf9, new RIA CCOish 1911, .32acp anything, my Carbine or mini14 ... just don't feel the need and that Carbine's extractor is NOT an easy part to swap, by my understanding
