Went to the Tulsa show this past weekend and wanted to share the experience. The good news: All 3 of my buddies found a gun they liked for decent money, all antiques. I found the best Winchester Model 12 in 20 ga with a solid rib that I have seen in years. While I was wandering around trying to decide, someone smarter than I am bought it. So I guess the news isn't all good. Their was plenty of ammo, mostly over priced, but lots of it. One vendor had lots of .22LR and as I was leaving toward the end of the second day, he still had lots. So, I hope that means that people are leaving it on the shelf. Past shows have had no .22LR ammo. Saw one guy buy 4 boxes of bulk .22LR in 325 round boxes for $40 each. As long as people pay that ridiculous price, it will remain high. I bought some powder for myself and friends. Found Benchmark for $26 so bought several pounds. Some vendors had cases and cases of primers, mostly pistol. But, in the past, I couldn't find any. I am hoping this is a harbinger of things to come. All in all, it was a fine show that took until this morning for me to rest up from walking miles and miles on concrete.

I had to stay away from this one,,,

I had to stay away from this one,,,
I had already spent my disposable cash locally. :(

The problem with this gunshow is that it's very close to my birthday,,,
That's always a fine excuse for me to buy myself a new toy,,,
I was afraid that having no ready cash to spend,,,
I would use a credit card if I found something,,,
And I always find something I want.

I'm in Tulsa and haven't been to the big show since O'Dummy took office. And from what I read on our local Oklahoma gun forum, prices haven't changed much. But demand sure has. They said it was slow. Sales, that is.

I'm gonna go one of these shows, though. That last show I attended there was some guy who had been carrying three long guns for about five or six hours. Two on slings and he held the other. He was exhausted. I bet I could have gotten a good deal on them.

I live only about 20 miles from Tulsa but I didn't go this time. The constant dodging of people walking down the isles in that huge 11 acre building makes attending more of a grind than something enjoyable. Everyone should go at least once to see all those guns in one place. I used to enjoy looking for gun parts but most of the dealers don't bring them anymore. I did attend in the spring and found a great pre 64 model 70 stock at a cheap price of which I was very happy. I also buy an Ace gun case every time I go because they are a really good buy. They are made in Missouri and sold at the big show every year. Plenty of parking now even though you may have to walk a half mile to the door.

I made the drive out there this time last year. It was definitely worth seeing at least once, but, honestly, I found the J M Davis museum up the road in Claremore to be much more enjoyable. I spent more time there.

Glad you had a good time.

I also went and had a great time. Prices and availability were better than last April, although no where near pre-panic pricing. One of the coolest things I saw was a gas-trap M1 Garand with some theater-added parts. Serial number was 20,8**-something. Very cool!
