ALL large commercial reloaders tumble loaded rounds.

I've been doing it for 40+ years!

Just use common sense. Tumble for 20-30 minutes. Not 48 hours.

I tumble loaded rifle rounds for 20 minutes in corncobs with a small amount of mineral spirits to remove all traces of lube.

I tumble my loaded rounds all the time.
there is nothing like that shiny new ammo look even if it is a reload.
this was very dirty before I did a quick clean before loading
then 30 mins in the corn afterwards. also makes it easier to find on the ground after shooting.

I don't see where tumbling really affects the ammunition adversely, as long as it's not tumbled for an excessively long time. My concern might be more with the primers than the powder becoming affected. I have lightly tumbled finished ammo over the last 40+ years with no ill effects. I don't tumble the stuff I use for long range accuracy, but never tested the idea of any adverse effects as a result. I have never heard of an incident where ammunition has discharged as a result of tumbling. That does not mean it can't happen, but I don't think it's a common occurance.
