The next two weeks is either sex turkey season in my neck of the woods. I went on a controlled burn today to the ranch I'm hunting next monday. There are PLENTY. You can get 50 yards away in a jeep easily on most flocks. It is shotgun only here. I don't want to get into camo and gobble ect.
Should I use my BPS 10ga with 2 oz of Rem #4 and a extra full choke? Or should I use a 12 ga double mod and full BSS with 1 3/8 oz #2 or the same in my full choked Win Model 97?:D

Wow not much interest around Thanksgiving? Oh well, the 10ga BPS with 2oz of #4 with an extra full choke peppered the head and neck at around 60 yards (or a little better) with only a few hits to body today. I skinned it and put it in a 35 degree cooler- which should hold till thanksgiving. It only weighs 16pounds and was the largest tom of the flock. I think it may be tough so out comes the turkey frier!:)

I hunt the Osceola in Florida..prefer 12 ga SS and use Federal #4s. Got three the year before and two in 2003. Wild in the fall, need camo and no movement. Season open for me on 21 Nov..........good eating...good luck.

I use what ever 12 ga I feel like shooting and load it with #4 shot.
Don't hunt them much, if I have to eat a turkey (which I'd just as soon not) I prefer a butterball.

I had 17 turkeys within 15 yards of me on Tuesday eve. 13 hens, 2 jakes and 2 gobblers.

Too bad it wasn't season yet in Missouri.:(
