These are such times, but they are the times. You probably wouldn't do that in California. NY hasn't been any different for going on 10 years now...

I hope that they do take it to court, and that the court strikes down their ruling. We are seeing some ridiculous court rulings as of late.

As far as Colorado goes, just let the mag ban pass, ask Fields or Morse to hold a Glock 17 mag for a second, then perform a citizens arrest.

CRS 16-3-201 A person who is not a peace officer may arrest another person when any crime has been or is being committed by the arrested person in the presence of the person making the arrest."

Justin, your problem is much the same as Haddad's. Your employment is not gainful enough. If you were part of the ultra-elite, they could overlook such a minor offense.

We are the dead.

I must be forgetful, don't we currently have overcrowding in prisons?
What are they going to do, let the rapists out to make room for the magazine criminals?

These are the Times that try men's souls.
You got that right.

Having just finished reading the philosophers John Locke (father of American political thought- before WE screwed it up) and Thomas Hobbes (advocate of complete and total monarchy/oligarchy/complete government control), I can tell you that Locke is ripping his hair out and rolling in his grave at this very moment, while Hobbes is smiling and rubbing his hands whilst he burns in hell...

Trying my soul, and getting close to the point of making me seriously p*ssed off.

Justin, I went to some of the hearings/ debate at the Capitol and listened to Fields and some of the others. They don't care what we say or do they give a damn. We have a fight on our hands and not just a gun fight (laws). We need to fight politicaly and get these people out of office.
Semper Fi

I propose all you Colorado shooters gather your Tapco, Buttler Creek and Pro Mag banned capacity feeding devices together and dump them by the truckload on the lawn of said legislator at 11:59 PM the day before enactment. Civil obedience at its best.

Should have asked them if David Gregory ought to be imprisoned, he's considered pretty smart...by some.

'I get on the wrong side of some people for some of my screwy political ideas, but Justin's experiences here illustrate a point.
I do not want to be governed by power-mad idiots who would imprison a law-abiding citizen over something like that. '

Ah, but that's the beauty of it from their point of view- you and I only think we're law abiding citizens, but we'll just be felons who haven't been apprehended yet. With a stroke of a pen. Just because you haven't ever hurt anyone, or ever intend to isn't really the point now, is it?

"I'm a competitive shooter. I attend shooting matches both in Colorado, and in other states, including New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas. At these shooting matches, it's sometimes common for competitors to share equipment like magazines. As I understand it, violating the proposed magazine ban would be a class 2 misdemeanor punishable by a fine of $1,000 or a prison sentence of up to a year. Now, let's say that I'd borrowed a magazine, but forgotten about it in my range bag, and was found to be in possession of it. Would you honestly be ok with throwing me in prison for up to a year as punishment for a simple accident?"

Rhonda Fields exact words were "Yes, I would be fine with that."

John Morse's exact words were "You're obviously pretty smart, and you're engaged enough to know that this is an illegal act. So, given that you should know better, I would be perfectly ok with locking you up."

Note that I'm a gainfully employed, property-owning tax-payer with a mortgage and family. With absolutely no compunction or thought given to the consequences of such a prison sentence, both of these people were utterly ok with destroying my life for an accidental violation of a thoroughly idiotic law.

These people are neither rational or reasonable, and they must be vehemently opposed at every opportunity. So far as I'm concerned, this is no longer a "national discussion" but a fight for survival.

I bet even in Denver there is a newspaper somewhere that would like to publish a letter relating your experience.

I think my response, other than blank stare in disbelief, would be something along the line of "if you don't mind ruining my life over nothing, don't expect me to feel any different about yours... karma is a female dog".

...actually caring if you or I is suddenly branded a criminal?
This should come as no surprise, except to those who've always looked at the antis through rose-colored glasses.

Politicians like Rhonda Fields and John Morse have ALWAYS looked at gun owners as "unprocessed criminals". They've NEVER viewed us as "law abiding gun owners" because we've long violated the laws of their ideology, even if those laws haven't yet been enacted in society. In their mind, the time is only now coming that the real criminals, the ones who have gone unprocessed all these years, will finally get rounded up and prosecuted. That is, if they do not abide by the legislative reeducation that gun control serves as.

By passing gun control laws, or any laws; environmental, taxation, business regulation... collectivists are instructing the citizenry. If the populace doesn't follow the instructions, they will be rightfully corrected.

It's time that we all accept this. This is how they operate. This is what they believe. This is what they desire.

Know your enemy. Please.

And people think I'm crazy for refusing to do business with companies from, or even set foot in, NY, DC, CA, etc.

and all the union Fudds sucking on the gub'ment teets will gladly throw you under the bus and keep voting blue, so that their gravy train keeps a rollin'

I have a very uneasy feeling that all this is going to blow up in the Democrats faces.... and they'll be responsible for what they provoke...
