I have a muzzleloader with a 1-48" twist. I am wondering if this is fast enough to shoot conicals and minies accurately ? Any help would be appreciated.
Assuming that it's .50 or .54", yes, that's enough twist to shoot conicals. You'll probably get better accuracy with shorter conicals however. Sabot loads may or may not stabilize depending on weight and length.
Most modern replica muzzleloaders are rifled at this twist so they can use ball and conicals. The Hawkins brother used it for some reason, so it became a "popular" twist rate.
