Hello all,

Hope you like them

Best regards

Very nice! Welcome to THR and NFW.

Do you forge, or use stock removal?

John

I handforged for steel like W1, 1095, 1084, 52100 or L6, and I use stock removal for special steels like D2, or BG42, ATS34.Thanks for your comments!

Best regards!

The new one today. A XXXL Bowie, L6 tool steel, osgae handle with a rifle stock finish on it, steel guard. Big but not heavy!

Friendly!

I love the look of the grind on that large bowie.

Can you elaborate on the backside edge?

Is is a 100% false edge, or did you leave an actual edge at the tip?

that is good stuff. love the handle materials. i have used osage myself. good to work with. thanks for sharing.

The back side is a false edge, this Bowie is for a Boar hunter who need to use a strong blade to kill them at the end.

Thank you all for your comments!

The large Bowie is a brute!

Like the look a lot.

Cheers to the neighbor!

You are really whipping through the blades! :) I like the first 2 best, but I can certainly see where the last one (the pig sticker) would do exactly what you intended it for!

Welcome to THR!

I made heat treating with special furnace I have got. I can heat treat little knives to big two hand sword on it.And I use some torch sometimes for simple steel.

Thanks for your words all!

Definitely like Knife No. 1 (Bowie), and Knife No. 4 (the Bowie you just posted). Keep up the good work!

tbw,

Does your primary bevel change as you go from tip towards the ricasso on your fighter?

Do you establish a secondary bevel on it to keep a constant angle on the edge or do you let the angle on the edge vary from tip to ricasso? OR are you using a convex grind?

Yes the primary bevel change , the tip is more tough. It 's a flat grind who goes on a convex on the tip.

The secondary bevel is a false bevel, but can easily be sharpen.

New one, I'm really happy with this one too!L6 steel, carbon fiber handle!!!A big Boar hunter!
