I decided to make one thread for this.

I put together a webly .38 S&W revolver from a bag of parts my girlfriend's grandfather gave me. Well, the trigger wont reset and I think the mainspring is too weak. Anyone have experience with these guns?

Next question.

I'm on the market for a set of adjustable competition grips for my S&W 625. Anyone have any ideas where I can find some?

Thanks.

I had one and wanted to do an action job but couldnt find spare parts. I sold it shortly there after.

Adjustable grips? new one on me. Sory for the lack of help.

Sorry about the delay but sometimes those that answer questions get outnumbered by those that ask them... :)

Anyway, in respect to the trigger return in your Webley. In this respect it works like some of the older Colt double-action revolvers (such as the Python or Detective Special) in that there is a "V" shaped mainspring, where the upper leg works the hammer, and the lower one pushes on a lever that tensions both the hand and returns the trigger. If the mainspring is weak, or has been tampered with, this is the most likely cause of your problem.

See if you can get a new one at: www.e-gunparts.com

Like Eric F, I haven't heard of any handgun competitions that allow adjustable stocks except those associated with some form of bullseye shooting.

I looked high and low (google) for adjustable N-frame grips, and couldn't find any. Lots of K/L-frame target grips, none for N-frames.

It's hard to find mainsprings for the Webleys.

I agree with Old Fuff, it's the mainspring IMHO.

Are you sure you have the mainspring "attached" to the trigger properly?

I'll check to see if the mainspring is installed correctly tonight. That's something I could have easily overlooked.

I remember Nil having some adjustable grips for N frame revolvers, but they don't show them on their website anymore. Now they only have nonadjustable target grips.

I got the Webly working! I'll post pictures up here when I get them. Looks like I was missing a piece (mainspring retaining thingy).

Now I have a gun with no ammo.

Yea, but you have a cool gun with no ammo. :D

.38 S&W brass is available. I just shoot plated or jacketed .38 (.357) bullets in my .38 S&W's. If you look around, you can find some properly sized lead bullets for loading it.

My present favorite .38 S&W is a S&W Victory Model. I love shooting it. I traded off my Model 33. Should have lept it. I also have a top break H&R which is a cool little gun. I have my eye on another .38 S&W, but I am cash poor and XMas is right around the corner. Gotta work something out. :)
