my Taurus TX22 has been decently accurate, the rear sight has been maxed out in height and its shallow which obscures the sight picture but is serviceable. I recently was able to put a extremely lightweight suppressor on and the POI shifted significantly , it shot 3-1/2 feet low at 25ish yds! Happened with a different suppressor as well. I had already looked over how this design could be flawed, they made it easy to disassemble by doing away with a fixed barrel design by having the barrel slot into rails and lock in with the take down levers, being that the slide is aluminum they cant make use of it as another contact point the barrel floats through the slide (somewhat) . If the area where the barrel slides in is loose thats you consistent lockup is gone. With your suppressor adapter on make sure your weapon is clear and feel the play it has. My question is what would be the best way to remove the slop? Shim the barrel where it slides in? Have taurus send a barrel and hope it helps? Idk

If the barrel isn’t fixed to the frame and there is no real support at the muzzle for the increased weight of the suppressor, it looks like all you’re going to do is quickly bend or break the parts that are holding the barrel at the rear because of the increased downward leverage on those points.

Since I don’t have a TX22 I can’t say with authority that this may be the case, but from your description of the barrel attachment/support design it sure seems plausible.

Since you may have discovered the TX22 design isn’t compatible with suppressors, Id say the only teal option is to find a fixed (or supported) barrel rimfire pistol and relegate the TX22 to non suppressed use.

Stay safe.

Thanks for the reply, I plan on contacting Taurus and seeing the ideas behind it and seeing if I can "accurize" the taurus for ****s and giggles. Used to tighten 1911's and CZ's same idea. Additional note is there is wear showing on the bottom of the slide where the barrel protrudes which idk is by design or by flaw since in my mind that will apply pressure upwards where at the other end where the rails are its taking the brunt of the repetitive movement

I have both a TX22 (for now) and a TX22 Competition. So far only the original has had a can mounted to it. I have had zero issues with the tiny amount of weight on the front of the gun. If anything it balances better than before. Three and a half feet is a gigantic shift and not at all normal.

I don't have either gun in front of me but my recollection of the parts is that they aren't terribly different from any other blowback pistol.

Well ive noticed that other TX22 examples don't have this issue as well, its why I used at minimum 2 suppressors just in case one just had a poi shift issue, as for blowback designs alot are fixed barrel or browning type actions taurus met in the middle and made a blowback design but had the Barrel removable for takedown, im sure there are similar designs but remember this of the consistency of lockup is down with the front of the slide on this it is aluminum so it will wear
