Does anyone know about these cap and ball revolvers? I have one nib with a 7.5" barrel. The gun is fantastic, much better made than anything I've seen from Uberti or Pietta.

The revolvers were made for the European market that prohibits cartridge pistols, such as the UK. They seem to be well made, though they come with ejector rods, etc, which must be strictly for appearance. The cylinder would need to be reloaded off the gun.

I have seen a few, even owned a Bisley . the last one I saw was a target model with a 10 in barrel. Dixie sells a loading stand/lever for about $20

When I said the gun was fantistic I was refering to the fit and finish. I guess labor is cheap in Italy and q/c is good.

A $20 loading stand is a POS. I have one and it stinks, so I bought a decent one and never looked back.

I've had one for several years. It's a fine shooting gun. I use 20-25 gr fffg real black (Goex) and a dry lubed felt overpowder wad. I use a loading press, of course. I have two spare cylinders that come in quite handy.

nice mike, ive wanted one for a long time in 4 in barrel..this is the same steele as used in the 44 40 version and can handle 33 grain loads with a 200 gr bullet (not recomended by manufacturer)although ive heard that the revolver binds up fast with black powder.is this your experience?

As you may know I'm not much of a fan of heavy projectiles and full chamber loads. I've not ever fired this gun with a bullet that large or that much powder. As far as binding up with fouling, I can't say it's been a problem. First, notice the bushings on the front of the cylinder around the arbor hole - same device the ROA uses to reduce fouling on the arbor. Second, the need to remove the cylinder to reload means the arbor is easily and always available to wipe clean with each cylinder change.
