Colt marked its .44-40 SAAs as the "Frontier Six Shooter" but the word "Frontier" in the name of a modern reproduction does not mean it is a .44-40.

Cimarron used to sell only (or primarily) Uberti cartridge revolvers but they started selling Pietta revolvers a few years back. Those were called "Frontier" models but now it seems they have slopped that title over to some of the Ubertis as well.

Thanks y'all but so far it looks like this critter doesn't exist. Looks like 45 Colt is going to be the caliber if it is to be nickel plated.

They have a Frontier, but it is an 1875 Remington reproduction and 5.5" barrel. The 7.5" nickel plated is an "Outlaw" by their current catalog, but my 1875 in 5.5" is stamped "Outlaw" and is 44-40...looks exactly like what they currently call a "Frontier".

Looking for a SAA style but the nickel plated 1875 Outlaw is a handsome firearm.

Had one of those, in 44-40. Bought it for cowboy shoots.
Nice looking but in sunlight the nickled front sight disappeared in the glare from the nickled barrel. I eventually sold it.
