Uberti accuracy Load?

What about Trail Boss powder? I have heard good and bad about it. I am not looking for high power loads, just high accuracy load. Is it a good powder for that?

I've had very good accuracy with Trail Boss and 230 grain bullets. I loaded some up for my wife so she could handle it with no issues. Very light shooting and just as accurate as my Unique and 2400 loads. (Mine is a Blackhawk. I get a little crazy sometimes.)

MY TWENTY PLUS YEAR OLD Cimarron/Uberti 45 has over 6900 rounds of ammuntion through as we speak, ALL being 250-255GR bullets driven by 9.0GRS of Unique, then 9.0GRS of Universal when I switched to the latter years ago. You cannot tell it from a new one other than the fact it is one of the very first Turnbull Cimarrons ever made. I do NOT know what you guys think modern guns are made of anyways;will I wear it out ??? Maybe, and then I will toss the sumbiscuit in the trash and go buy a new one, BIG DEAL ! Furthermore, I have Uberti's in every caliber they ever made and am right at 50,000 rounds through all of 'em with NO problems whatsoever and I NEVER used wussy loads in any of 'em....
And so it goes....

Agreed. I've run some stemwinders through my Uberti .44 Specials. Not as a habit, mind you, but I've run 260 gr. SWC's just shy of 1100 thourgh my 4 3/4" and just at 1100 out of my 5 1/2". But 7.5 grs. of AL20/28 or Unique and a 260 gr. SWC day in and day out.

The 5.0gr performed best at 10yds and 50yds. More consistent and accurate than the 4.6 gr loads. I will use this load for all my Cowboy guns.

They may be considered light loads, but i can hit a bullseye at 10, and close at 50yds. I can hit the 8" steel target at 100yds using my leveraction. The 5.0 is the midrange load. :D

Two favorite loads for my 45/8" blackhawk are 8.5 gr unique or 7gr. green dot and lyman bullet 454190.

I run 6.5gr of Win 231 over a 250gr LRNFP. This is the starting load from the Lyman #48 page 361. I use this load for my Uberti Cattleman 5.5" CAS guns and its proven to be reliable and very accurate. Shoots great out of my Marlin 1894 as well.

"Anybody have a good accurate load for an Uberti Cattleman .45 LC with a 4 5/8" barrel? I have been trying loads with Unique and Bullseye. So far 9 gr of Unique seems to be the best, but still not great. Running about 2.5"-3" so far off a rest. Any suggestions?"

Rebel, assuming you are shooting from 25 yards, I'm not sure you can improve much on 2.5 inches given the rudimentary sights and long, heavy, and relatively slow hammer fall of the Uberti.

I seem to remember that the best accuracy with Unique in the 45 Colt was often obtained with 8.0 grains of Unique under a 250 grain bullet. This will of course vary from gun to gun.

This is the load that I use. Tried and true load for the 45 Colt.

As far back as I can remember, unique powder is the top choice for the.45 colt.It is very accurate with 250 grn. bullet in my handguns and rifles. Other powders work fine but I have found no reason to change in about 68 years of handloading. I just like unique.

My Dad just got a 5 1/2" Uberti 45 Colt. Yesterday I threw together a few loads to try here at the house. It was 8.0 grs. of Unique and a 262 gr. SWC I'd cast from an RCBS 45-255 mould. The load chrono'ed at 810 fps. I didn't bench it for accuracy but fired it offhand at 20 yds. It hit point of aim and grouped quite, well, around 4", for having been fired offhand.
