Uberti Maverick, the first 45LC caliber derringer imported to the USA by Uberti of Italy. This particular gun was made in 1964 and imported prior to the 1968 Gun Control Act.

Very well made all steel with beautiful color case hardened frame. Tightly locks up and feels great in hand.
Rather scarce to find these nice in decent shape now, occassionially found on GB but they are pretty beat up, these were made in 38 special and 45 colt only.

Firing one of those in 45 Colt sounds painful. The originals were chambered in 41 rimfire which had about half the energy of 22LR.

Never heard of it, much less seen one. Looks like it was very nicely made. Thanks for sharing.

Yup Uberti made it for importation at Elmer Keith's urging :) , I have had both the .357 and .45LC version. My .45 version was reamed 30 years ago to take 2.5" .410 shells. These guns are about 30% larger than the original .41 Derringer and they weigh 27 .oz. The grips are big enough to holdonto and the lock up is pretty beefy as it had to be for .357, none were just .38 special FWIW. :)

That sounds like it places them at just a little smaller than the Bond Arms guns.

I've shot the Bond with full power .45Colts. The two shots in the barrels was enough. Never tried it with any .410 but the owner did and said that was the last for him too. He sold it shortly after that. At any rate I'd not want to shoot this size of gun with anything Magnum.

I've also got to shoot a .38Spl Reminnton that was the "proper" Derringer size. It too was a handful but not as bad as the Bond with the .45Colts.

38Spcial is the ideal caliber for a derringer! Lots of power and yet controlable. My Cobra is great for SHORT ranges!

These guns usually do sell, when they show up on Gunbroker, I've seen them go from between 250 to over 400, but in 45 Colt caliber, I've only seen one in 357 on there, hasn't sold because it is a wreck in my opinion..

The 357 derringer is the same size as the original Remington model while the 45 Colt is larger but fits the hand very nicely, close in size to the current Bond Arms derringer

Cool, didn't know Uberti ever made such a gun. Like the color case hardening. Would go great with my Beretta Stampede.
