Hello everyone, I can see the parts diagram list different part numbers for the trigger vs bolt screw. However the screws look so very similar. How can you tell if you have accidentally swapped them after disassembly?

Thanks.

They're probably the same. If there is any difference the bolt screw is a few thousandths shorter. I don't remember any difference but it's been years since I tore mine down that far.

Best thing to do is mark one when you disassemble it for the first time. I always mark the bolt screw. Sometimes switching them may give the action a different geometry . . . especially after tuning. The screws are typically warped and with off axis drilled holes, the differing combination can render a revolver inoperable.

Oh, I believe they are the same these days, they used to be different lengths because of frame taper.

I have an old ASM, if you swap the screws they don't fit flush with the frame. The frame and screws must have been final "polished" assembled.

Curiosity got the best of me so I disassembled the gun. One screw is just barely longer than the other. I had the longer as my trigger screw, so I think I have not accidentally swapped them.

Thanks
