I am looking into buying an Uberti made Schofield replica revolver in caliber .45 Colt. I prefer the 7" barrel "cavalry" model. Do any of you own an Uberti Schofield revolver? I am very intrested in any input you can give me ( pro or con ). $700 is a lot of money to spend on a so-so quality/functioning revolver. Thanks for any info you can give.

You might want to look into THR posts from about a week or so ago for an interesting thread about Schofields. I recently purchased the Uberti Wells Fargo model, with 5" barrel and chambered for .38 Special. Since then (in the thread mentioned above) I have learned that Beretta has a new model called the Laramie. It's an improved version of the Uberti 7" model except with the Beretta name, adjustable sights, and a transfer bar to allow loading of 6 cartridges safely. I don't know whether this new model is widely available yet in the U.S., but it might be worth waiting for.
