have you seen the Grip vs. frame size? like it don’t blend that well@Paul R Zartman I don't find that 742 particularly ugly but it definitely doesn't look right.
@Mark_Mark , since you brought up the VP 70z here's a picture.

I don't think this is really that ugly either. I concur with rest of what you said. When compared to the more recent Heckler and Koch products, this is a thing of beauty.
Like I said, the wood and basket weave is a work of art, they just were on acid or something (70s)... the nose of the forearm is wider and bigger than the receiver end, just backwards and it makes the gun look..."wait for it"... very unusual... but she's mine and I may have to live with the fact that she will always be living at home...@Paul R Zartman I don't find that 742 particularly ugly but it definitely doesn't look right.

just think it like this, they will never make another gun like that because acid is kidda not cool anymore and skilled wood carvers are near extinctLike I said, the wood and basket weave is a work of art, they just were on acid or something (70s)... the nose of the forearm is wider and bigger than the receiver end, just backwards and it makes the gun look..."wait for it"... very unusual... but she's mine and I may have to live with the fact that she will always be living at home...

Yea...but not because its Homely looking...The coach gun sticks out the most.
We have a winner. That stuff doesn't belong on a lever gun.
I don’t own them…. my Wife would KILL ME, but it might be worth itgeez Mark... nice gun.... but i really like the shoulder it is resting on.... mighty fine my friend....
The Webley IS ugly. But it's ugly with character, like the late Richard Boone. Not just fuggley, like the late Nikita Khrushchev.Those two of you, who think Webleys are ugly, may you be damned with only RG revolvers for the rest of your lives...
Used to be a surplus store that had a pile of them things. Had a lifetime guarantee regarding broken parts. My friends and I referred to them as "Pipe barrel Astras".Capybara said:My Astra 600, also known as "The Pipe Wrench"
I have a model 300. Very interesting.Capybara said:...the history on these is amazing.
I knew a lanky tom boy in high school, just was friends, dang did she blossom in college! I was way too lateGuns and beauty are a lot like women. All kinds of different tastes.
But when either are running low on availability, like a weapons ban or bar closing time….
Go ugly early and avoid the rush.
I have. Intratec CAT-9, for one...I never met a gun I didn’t like
My Astra 600, also known as "The Pipe Wrench"
Hardest recoiling pistol I have and it's only a 9mm,
stings the web of the hand like a hot .40 S&W and is
a complete PITA to take down to clean and to re-assemble.
