Just got an awesome Mosin for a great price of $225 otd.
This thing has seen some real love. It's a 1933 Izzy hex bolt that was cut down to 19". The bolt handle was professionally turned down, the bolt is very smooth and not typical of MNs, and the trigger is crisp and light. Breaking "like glass" would not be an overstatement on this trigger! The stock appears to be a Boyds or similar with a cheek rise comb. There are aftermarket iron sights installed and they appear straight. The bore is crisp and shiney, and crown well-done.
It's really light and handy. Whomever did this build clearly took a lot of time and care on it. I wouldn't be surprised if there's $300 in work and materials on this bubba'd MN, in addition to the original cost of the rifle.
It's non-matching, so of lesser historical significance other than the 1933 hex izzy build.
I just got it and haven't fired it yet, but wanted to share my latest awesome fine. I just took this quick picture with some Russian insignia and stuff ...
I bought my first Mosin M38 for $50 in 2007, and have been a collector of these since. I have many of them, and this one is particularly cool.
