Uh oh, momma's not going to be happy

I guess the question for Nature Boy is what the money would have been spent on other than powder and bullets. If the answer was something like food or needed car repair, then his wife has a right to be mad. If it was simply a question that she would have spent it on her own interests, well, marriage is about sharing.

hdwhit, we're not eating mac-n-cheese because of my reloading obsession. As I said in my subsequent post, this is mostly tongue in cheek.

However, I did tell her I was going in the store to buy one box of primers........that one is on me!

That's me, I don't buy supplies if I have a bill to pay or my kids need something. But sometimes all is going good, you buy supplies and the bottom falls out of everything. It happens. My girlfriend knows of every gun I buy and doesn't get mad unless she can't shoot them!

I was married for 24 years and hardly ever spent a dime on me. Was the epitomy of a family man. Then one day she ran off with someone else. She was a stay at home mom for 18 years then wanted to go to RN school. I worked two jobs to get her degree, then she left me for another man

So what I'm saying is, sometimes you just have to treat yourself for your hard work and a good non controlling woman will undetstand

HA! HA! I reload for my girlfriend so she loves that I buy powder, bullets and primers for her ... and myself. :D I bought her 600 Berger 130gr VLDs recently and will be putting together 200+ rounds for a survival/sniper course she's attending at the end of the month.

*sigh* This is why you have personal accounts outside and unrelated to "home" accounts. We have three check accounts; his, mine and ours. As long as the third pays the bills I could care less what happens with the first. I'm his wife, not his babysitter.

In the meanwhile I'm still waiting to get my reloading press back. :banghead:

Do like I have been doing the last five years. I have been planning to retire for a while and it is going to happen in a couple of months. I have been telling my wife, in preparation of a reduced income, that I needed to stock up on components while I could. I have cases of primers, jugs of powder, bullets and lots of lead to pour my own. This is not even considering my ammo.

This is how my fiance and I are going to do the accounts once we start combining things. We are both gun nuts, like fishing and taking our Jeeps to the trails. So I imagine our separate accounts will stay depleted.

You are not full up yet I see.:) Looks like room for half a dozen more anyway.

As to the thread--Good relationships work wonders. Life is too short arguing over stuff half the time.
Just tell her that you did not realize that they had the other stuff until you got there (true) and due to not seeing it on the shelves for years figured you better not miss the opportunity to restock it.

Had a girlfriend once who bought me a progressive press and a gun safe....

Next year we'll have been married for 30 years, just gotta know how to pick'em I guess. I showed her this post yesterday and she said, about the same thing as berettaprofessor....:what:

If I had to ask permission, there wouldn't be a relationship that would be something I would want no part of. I just wished she was a bit more involve similar to MCMXI's gal there. Don't get me wrong, she IS a shooter, just not quite on the scale that makes it a lot more fun for me. Usually though after we shoot I feel the need to practice more since she does so much better than I do. Could be she had a good teacher I guess....;)

My wife doesn't care how much I spend on any of my hobbies. I work and she takes care of the kids. As long as the bills are paid, the kids have what they need, and she has a little money to buy something now and then, she's happy. Luckily for me she doesn't have expensive hobbies. Now I just need to make more money to buy ALL the toys I want, which is always just one more.

Lol whats the point of money if you aint gonna spend it?

"Next year we'll have been married for 30 years, just gotta know how to pick'em I guess."

When my buddy had his music store open, all of the guys that hung out there thought I was the luckiest man Alive because my wife bought most of my guitars for me... some really nice ones.
A couple of weeks ago while visiting our favorite gun shoo 100 miles away, she tried to talk me into buying a Kimber Micro 380 to match hers. The clerk freaked when she told him to wait while she talked me into it. I felt liked the 3 eyed alien the way he looked at me because I wouldn't give in.
As 41 Mag said "... just gotta know how to pick'em I guess."
Now when the Kimber Micro 9 hits the shelves...

Guess we all end up in the dog house every now and then. I will when she finds out about this. Momma is usually pretty good about it though. After 35 years she has figured out if I want something I'm going to go get it.

You won't be in the dog house if you lay a birthday card in her name on it...

Was all proud when I got my first pound of powder. Went out and bought my first 8lb jug of powder today...yeah I'm addicted. Nature, does it get any better!? LOL
(excuse the pound container, sent the picture to a buddy for comparison purposes)
