Is "UK" an adjective to the common noun? And is "freaks" a verb of a common noun? I mean, really, it changes the meaning to a profound extent. I just saying...

I made a lego machine gun once. It involved a soft rubber wheel attached to a lego technics motor underneath a gravity fed magazine. It would spray lego blocks all over a room. I also made lego bombers that would drop little lego bombs.

Its a miracle that legos didn't turn me into a psychotic killer.

There really should be subforum for stuff like this so that we can see how good we have it and to keep in mind how things could be if we're not careful.

macFarlaine, I have greatly disagree with you. I have studied more than a little history and if Hitler had invaded as he had originally planned the British Isles would have been his in a week. Your army had shown when it had to be removed from Dunkirk, mostly by civilians, just how good it was in standing up to the German Army. You would have put up a good fight but in the end you would have lost because you did not have the civilians capable of supporting the army. Pitchforks and shotguns do not stand up very well against tanks and Mausers.

As if was, for some reason Hitler gave up a sure thing when he decided to bomb England into submission. For some reason he was not informed the Luftwaffe planes would be attacking at pretty close to the limits of their range while the RAF would be just minutes from their bases.

Oh, you Brits would have put up a good fight but, short of a miracle, you would have been quickly overrun.

I used to make all kinds of projectile weapons with my Legos. BTW for some unknown reason, 1x6 tall blocks fly the farthest. 1x4s tumble too much, 1x8s are too heavy, and 1x2s....well, they just don't have stopping power.

My most treasured picture from my childhood is of the 1x8 block embedded halfway into the drywall beside my bed.

That reminds me!

I gotta order a new copy of Anarchist's Cookbook.

The pages are all stuck together on my original copy.

Oddly enough, I have the opposite problem. I'd have to read my copy with tweezers, tape, and lots of patience.

The only anti Brit newspapers I read are published in Britain. It's good to know that there's no problem from terrorists or Muslim extremists, no rise in violent crimes, no prosecutions of people for defending themselves against home invasions, no subway bombing, no attempt at bombing airports. I'd wondered if all those things were hoaxes. Glad to hear that everything is going well. Don't forget to write.

Only tabloid I read that makes Britain look bad in the Guardian . It makes Britian look bad by printing out of context quotes and marxist propaganda to attack the US on a regular basis.

The major factor in making Britian look bad is young Brits posting distorted views of the US they get from seeing it though a Marxist/Atheist lens. Seems like thats the new chic over there. Its not uncommon here but at least people like Ward Churchill and Howard Zinn get found out for what they are sooner or later.

I too had little tv time growing up. This for a kid who's father holds the patent for the color tv broadcast signal development and had the first of a 1/2 dozen color sets in the world.

So I used lincoln logs and built multiple homes inhabited with plastic men holding guns.

I guess this would now be considered a militia compound..........

I've got a friend who's mother wrung her hands about the fact that when they were younger her children would bite toast into the shape of a pistol. This sort of nonsense is by no means restricted to the UK.

I LOVED lincoln logs. however, they were more likley to house My Little Ponys and barbies then little green army men.

i really need to go out and get this book, and some legos. *grin* last time i got legos, they were all pink and white cause somebody thought they fairy tale castle was what i wanted instead of the Piriets. *sigh* sometimes its hard being a little girl.
i wish i still had the pink legos though. then i could make a pink gun!!!!

Lego guns,real guns,yes some of our more stupid people have a problem with them.To say we have a major problem is just plain short sighted.I bang on contantly about crime being minimal,as a family man I feel perfectly safe where I live.
I will admit to things are changing for the worst in the UK,we have some silly laws,and the word GUN puts the fear of god into most people. Our rights are being eroded on a weekly basis,I am not sure what we can do about this,there is an apathy amongst the vast majority of people but saying that a time will come when people realise enough is enough.
Re:the Taliban I thought the UK army were the one's on the front line,or does this not get reported in the USA.

Now, if we talk about the guns we could build with Legos (wait, aren't Glocks ALREADY built with Legos? ) the thread may survive. Keep up the Brit-bashing and you're going to get it locked.

I personally want to figure out how to build a 1911 with Legos....

I went shopping today with my wife and daughter.I had a look in a couple of toy shops for lego (this thread was on my mind).The shelves were more or less empty,maybe dads and kids have been on THR and realised there is somewhere left in the UK we can buy or make toy guns!

Much to my distress as a late Christmas shopper, Barnes & Noble ships in 1-2 weeks, Amazon in 2-4. I'll check the local bookstores and see if it's in, otherwise I'm going to have to do that which I tend not to do gracefully....wait.

I can always get myself the Legos for Christmas. If I do, I'll post pix of the grown kids' reaction on here (Oh, crap, Mom's gone around the bend...who's going to be the one to try and take her guns from her?......)

This topic was discussed on Fox News. The one reporter (talking head) stated, "It's scary...making guns out of legos!!!"

The other reporter stated, "Well, it's not like they're real guns...they're just toys. Furthermore, they are extremely complicated to build."

Somehow the word "gun" send some people into a tizzy. That aside, I agree. Let's keep the thread on-track and not get it locked. I too want to learn the what and how.
