Combat for what is the question. If it is going to be a SPR type thing, there is one list, and if it is like a room to room clearing gun, a completly different list.

Or this:

Sometime i will make a list like above for it.....

To either of these, a DIAS is NEEDED.

It sure wouldn't be a semi-auto only rifle...which leaves out the AR-15.
You still didn't answer the question. The only ARs left are the AR30 and the AR50. What is your reasoning for choosing a very heavy bolt action rifle over a reliable light weight semiautomatic for combat??

Well, there's always the AR-10...:p

Ultimate Combat AR

What would your ultimate combat AR configuration be?

Please consider the following:
Manufacturer
Barrel Length
Stock
Sights
Accessories
Sling
Since the requirement is combat, the ONLY considerations will be reliability and durability as all ARs are accurate enough and you can hang all of the trinkets and hooter extenders on them you wish.
The Colt LE Carbine is the only semiautomatic rifle you will find on the market that builds and tests to actual Mil Spec. It is for all practical purposes a semiauto version of a M4. It has a 16" chrome lined barrel with a pinned FSB. It has a removable carry handle so you can better mount optics. I would personally not bother with flip up style BUIS and instead mount optics and pack the carry handle if I need to go to irons. I would mount some configuration of night vision and conventional optics and be able to add a weapon light to it.
I do not own a Colt and I have only ever owned 1 Colt in my life. Realistically, no one will ever see true combat with their semiautomatic AR15 so this is all fantasy anyway. For me personally, my Stainless Bushmaster 20" rifle will do any job I need it to.

I am issued it.

Colt M4A1 select fire. 1.5x5 Leupold in a Larue mount, VTAC sling, rail with Surefire attached and verticle forgrip.

First, nothing in my response about a bolt action anything.
What I wrote was I would not select a semi-auto only rifle (such as an AR-15) for combat.
It would be a selective fire or full auto rifle...M16 or real AK-47, something of that nature.

Instead of answering the question posed by the OP, you decided to ignore it and infer that no AR is good enough for you...
I can assure you that you could function just fine in combat with a AR15. ;)
The only time you "need" full auto is for supressive fire, and even then it is not necessary. It is worth noting that most of the people who demand full auto are not Vets and have never actually trained with it or even tried it at all.

Which is not an AR, so by default you are agreeing with my original statement of a Colt LE Carbine....:D

What sort of combat might we be looking at?

For a CQB situation, I'd get a Noveske 12.5-in N4 stainless and throw on an Aimpoint CompM4.

For a general SHTF gun, I'd get a 6.8mm weapon like a Barrett REC7 and put on a TA31 ACOG and Magpul UBR stock.

For an SPR-style gun, I'd get a basic lower, drop in a JP match trigger, and put on a LaRue SPR upper and Magpul PRS with a high-end tactical-style scope like Leupold Mk.4, Nightforce NXS, etc.

Not in combat...

BTW, Viet Nam vet, 1972-73 (Navy, but what the hell....)

And, yeah, I own a Rock River Arms Entry Tactical, had a pre-ban DPMS (real nice rifle, but very finicky) and also own 4 other magazine fed rifles.

But, in combat, with folks shooting at me...yep, I'd want selective fire which an AR-15 doesn't have. At best, an AR is the rifle you'd want if there weren't real assault rifles available.

RRA lower with the RRA two stage trigger group, mated to a CMMG mid-length upper with a 16 inch 1-in-7 twist chrome lined barrel, topped by an EoTech 557 with a cheap magnifier. That’s going to have to be the ultimate combat AR since that’s as much money as I intend to sink into it.

How much trigger time did the Navy give you with an M16?
I have seen Colt full autos marked AR15 also, so this would fit your requirements and technically satisfy the OPs question.....
