More of an info item than a question. I have looked at buying an Ultrasonic Brass cleaner after reading how good a job it did on pistol parts and bolts as well as brass. One article by a user even claimed his brass looked like new...although everyone else said you needed to tumble the brass after cleaning in order to get the shine back.

I began wondering about the mepro sights on my Kimber and the sights on my Sig as to if they would be harmed by an Ultrasonic cleaning of the uppers. I checked with Sig and Kimber and they strongly suggested

"DO NOT USE AN ULTRASONIC CLEANER ON THE UPPER IF YOU HAVE ANY TYPE OF GLOW IN THE DARK SIGHT!"

For what it is worth. Kimber uses an ultrasonic method to clean but takes the sights off before doing so.

Just after I posted this, Brownells sent this little contradiction to the pistol manufaturer, Brownells stated "We haven't found any problem with putting night sights in ultrasonic cleaners."...hmmmmmmmmm I am going with the people that built the pistol as opposed to the one selling the cleaner.
