Ultrasonic cleaning

Has anyone used an ultrasonic cleaner for pistol cleaning?
How well does it work?
What cleaning solution would you use?
I am considering the purchase of one for this use.

Yes I have probably cleaned thousands of guns in an ultrasonic cleaner and that in itself shows their value.Never could accomplish that by hand.

That being said they are not all equal .Check the power they put out.You can spend $$$$ on them.

They do a great job of cleaning ,however caution must be use as they can etch surfaces.

I have one that needs to be send back for service after about 15 years.

I have used the L&R unit from Brownells (using the cleaning solution supplied by L&R). I was absolutely floored by how well it works. Cleaned up two shotgun actions in about an hour, and that included cleaning and oiling them separately. For a working gunsmith, nothing else comes close.

I understand it is not an industrial unit, but it has 160 watts, which is higher than most for around $100.00.

What is your opinion on this unit.
I am a collector, not a dealer.

Works great. Do not use Simple Green anywhere near aluminum.

The one you linked to is probably too small. The tank size is usually a misleading spec because the basket is a fair bit smaller by the time each dimension has "shrunk."
