Just received an Uncle Mike's kydex paddle holster with thumb break for 20 bucks from Natchez for my USPc.

The thumb break can be removed, and you can adjust it neutral, forward cant, or backwards cant.

Feels comfy, holds the pistol securely, and dirt cheap. I like it so far.

Wardog,

I own the model w/o the thumb-break for the same pistol. In practice, I have had the holster release from my pants and belt and present with the pistol at least 4 times.

A friend in Denver that uses this holster for his Glock has had similar issues.

Just something to be aware of. I too realy like this holster for it's price, and continue to work with it to make sure I have confidence in it.

usp_fan,

Understand about the holster coming out. That's why I opted for the thumb break.

I thought that it would be difficult to get the correct balance of retention vs. drag and not have the holster come out of the pants. (I've got a kydex belt holster for a USP .45f with no thumb break, and have it adjusted fairly tight for good retention. When I draw there is a considerable tug on the belt) I adjusted the paddle holster for minimal drag, and depend more on the thumb break for retention.

i must be doing somthing wrong...i can barely get the paddle out of my waistband without undoing both my belt and waistband and struggling with both hands to disengage the retaining piece from the material of my jeans

i should say that this problem has only gotten worst since i've been experimenting with the rake angle. it was much easier to remove when when i was wearing it vertically

i've found the fobus both more stable (wide set tabs) and easier to take off than the UM's paddle holster. i've been using the UM more lately because of the adjustable tension...i have to adjust it out because of a "fat" sig 220

I have the non-thumb-break paddle for my 1911, and I have never had issues with it presenting with the pistol. I have worn it with jeans and a simple belt, and also without a belt at all.

I would estimate I have well over 1,000 presentations with this combination. Just my $.02

I have an Uncle Mike's kydex paddle rig, I dunno about yours, but mine has a funny little tab screwed to the paddle (shaped kind of like a tilda or a weak s), and when I adjusted it so that it juts out and upward, I pretty much have to undo my belt and pants to get it out. Keeping it in a more neutral position makes it easier to remove.
