I have been trying to find some Uncle Mikes 59007 grips for a 638 Smith&Wesson with no luck. Are they still in the grip business or have they sold out? Thanks, Dalerj

If you go to the Smith & Wesson website they sell grips including the Uncle Mikes boot grip and others.

I think Uncle Mike's stopped making grips.
They no longer show anything on the web site.

I too looked all over for Uncle Mike's for my j-frame, and finally found them on the S&W website as MaKster suggested. You still have to search around a little when you get to the site - but they're there.

Can't find?

Thanks for the help but I can't find the Uncle Mikes 59007 on the web site. This is the 3 finger groove grip found on the old model 60. Any more help would be useful. Thanks, Dalerj

Watch eBay.
I know alot of people have written off eBay because of their anti attitude, but there are alot of grips on there.
I've also seen some grips for sale on Gunbroker.
You can always try the gun shows and or put a WTB in the classifieds here and on the S&W forum.
Good luck!

Respinding to Dalerj.

You're right, Uncle Mikes grips are hard to find, but I have one for ya!
I have an Uncle Mikes, model 59007, fits S&W J Frame, slight wear.

I also have a Hogue Monogrip, for S&W J Frame, Round Butt Rubber Monogrip.
AND
I also have a Pachmayr Gripper, Black Finger Groove, Smith and Wesson, Square Butt 2 -(also for J frame, I'm pretty sure).

Anyone interested please message me and make me an offer!
Thanks.

I'm pretty sure Uncle Mike's doesn't make grips any more or if they do, not a full line. You can sometime find them at other places. A darn shame because They were good grips. The ones I have on a Ruger Auto and a S&W K frame revolver are getting pretty well worn.

I think (?) Uncle Mike's is still in the handgun grip business; although not
pne of the popular rubber grips. Pachmayr and Hogue out sell UM by far.
FWIW, I recently added a set of Pachmayr Compac "Professionals" to my
old Smith and Wesson model 60 .38 Special. Very comfortable, and don't
cling too my clothes~!

Ive been very fortunate when looking for the Uncle Mikes/Butler Creek handgun grips. I had another poster, in another gunforum, tell me he had seen a set for the Redhawk and GP-100 sitting in the bottom of his gunstore showcase. I asked him to pick them up for me and I now have them installed on both guns. I have used Pach's and Hogue's for many years and the UM/BC's, in my humble opinion feel much more like a grip custom made for my hand.

why in the hell did they stop making grips?!? with the incredible amount of revolvers that Smith & Wesson manufacture & all the retrofits that gunowners do you would think that the $$$ would have been lucrative enough for them...complete & utter dumbasses :banghead:

Actually, I asked UM this very question. They had licensed their grip designs from Craig Spiegel. When the licensing agreement was up for renewal, they could not come to financial terms, so UM had to stop making his designs. I am quite partial to UM Butler Creek boot grips.

MillCreek,
Are you sure UM stopped making grips? I was almost sure they are now being made under their Butler Creek corporate name instead of under the Uncle Mike's name.

If they really stopped making grips I just might have to buy a selection of them off the S&W site for the future. I like their J frame boot grips much better than Hogue's Bantam grips.

I have just checked the Uncle Mike's and Butler Creek websites again and still cannot find any grips for sale. I have seen some vendors that still have new old stock of the Spegel-designed Butler Creek grips. But as far as I know, they are no longer being manufactured. Mr. Spegel is still around in Nehalem Oregon, and is still making his superb wood grips. But I don't think that he or any other company is currently making his grip designs in rubber like Butler Creek did.

I hope someone starts up manufacturing them again, since they were my favorite rubber boot grip of all.

I went looking for a set of the Butler Creek/Uncle Mike grips for my Taurus M-94 a few months back. Saw them in an older (2 yrs.) Brownell's catalog but couldn't find them in the new one.

Same results at both brand name web sites: Nada. Haven't been able to locate much in the way of old stock at several shows either, so I'm assuming that they're pretty much OO the grip B.

FWIW, I've got a like-new set of Boot Grips for a J-Frame S&W that I'd gladly swap for a pair of the regular sized ones for a small frame Taurus.
