Anyone use an under the belt holster? They are the holsters that are owb but worn under the belt. Which are the good ones? IMHO, belt/paddle holsters for the range are not stable enough.

Inside waist band holster. I highly recommend the Milt Sparks Versa Max II

Have you ever used a standard pancake holster? They both spread the support over a wide area and pull the gun in close to the body and can be very stable indeed. Also, the kind of belt a holster is on can make a tremendous difference.

What are you carrying and what carry rig (including belt) have you been using (and found wanting)?

Before I pocket carried,I used this method all the time w/ Desantis and High noon holsters. They are"pancake "style w/ the loops being along the sides of the holster.I liked the added security and the fact that it brought the gun in real tight to my body.IWB just didn't work for me,but between the belt and pants did.

I carry a kydex belt/paddle combo from a quality holster company. Lots of play, even with a good gun belt. I've seen the under the belt holsters & they seem like a good idea. I also like the suggestion of getting a pancake holster & running the belt over the holster instead of behind it. I'd be careful though, to not squeeze it too tight.
