158 grains at 1,000 fps + out of a 1 7/8” Lightweight J frame .38? OUCH!

Good stuff, thanks.

Stay safe.

Yikes! I'll pass in my lcr. Maybe just the standard pressure version of necessary. Thank you for the test.

Supposedly the hottest factory issue .38 ammo in production.

I have some but haven’t shot it.

That’s impressive.
Poke a hole.
Poke the biggest hole you can.
Poke it all the way through.

I’d carry that in my Ruger SP101 if I ever run out of my Grizzly .357 Hardcast.

In an airweight? No.

Love the underwood and Buffalo bore Hardcast rounds.

Very viable from a steel (even j) frame. But, your airweight or lcr won't blow up firing a few of these.

Fire a couple to see the recoil and point of impact, verify no crimp jump. You could then load them up for a nice light backup in placed where you'd want 3+ feet of penetration through muscle and bone.

I'll take the sore hand vs the mauling! I posted awhile back about a hunter using 3 rounds from a 38 to stop a griz attacking his friend. The article even mentioned the round I believe - 158 grain flat point fmj.

Right, I think both Underwood and Buffalo Bore market these types of rounds as being outdoors backup rounds if all someone has is the relevant .38 or 9mm handgun.
