It's pretty good, but its big brother Herco is better for those. (I also like AA#7, but that's for almost full-power magnum loads)

7 to 10 grs. of Unique under 150-170 grs. cast bullet in a .30-30 or .30-06 will bring a smile to your face. Your rifle will tell which is the best load in that range.

I'm to the point of buying what I can find and what will work in my pistols. I haven't seen Unique in years, probably won't anytime soon.

Today I scored 8 lbs of CFE Pistol, which works dandy in the 9mm.

About 2 month's ago, I scored 4 lbs of Longshot, which I load 40 S&W with, really like it.

I'm pretty well set on pistol powder now.

I have been finding it. I lost count at how much Unique I have bought this year....at a reasonable price...I believe it was 16 pounds.

Who has Unique in stock....on-line?
Three if's; If you have a Bass Pro near you, if you only are looking to try Unique out (1 lb.), and if you don't mind paying about $30 (after tax), they have have it in stock and you can have it shipped to your Bass Pro with no haz-mat fee.

Otherwise, Unique has been showing up off and on at places like Powder Valley, Recobs, Natchez, etc.

I have (9) pounds Unique of which (5) are one pound containers. Unique has always been for me versatile powder for my applications. Primarily I've been using W231 for reloading the 45ACP and W-AutoComp for the 9mm-Luger. Recently I was able to obtain the (5) one pound containers of Unique locally at a reasonable price. I could have obtained also an 8lb container of HP38-AKA-W231 at $165.00 plus tax but I decided not to as I most likely have enough components on hand to take me thru and extended period (decade) of time.

I went to gun show today no powder at all Zip :cuss: last month there was a lot kicking myself :banghead:

I was at the range for hours yesterday trying out different loads of Unique, 700X and HS-6 for my .45 Colt (levergun and Toklat). Of the three, Unique is my least favorite. Based solely on my experience I prefer as follows:

HS-6
700X
Unique

I've use Unique for 12 years in 45ACP and 45 Colt loads. Does very well in those calibers and it is a little dirty. So what, that's why we clean our brass no matter what powder is used!!:D

There are better powders, but Unique is handy to have around, because if you can't find your favorite for a particular caliber, you can still get some rounds loaded up with Unique.

I started using Unique many years ago when I was using a "Wack A Mole" Lee Loader for 38 Special.

I haven't seen any real reason to change. I load 38/357, 44 Special/44 Magnum, and 9mm with it. Seems to work just fine.

I purchased the last two pounds my LGS had two and a half years ago and haven't seen a bottle since. Been switching to CFE Pistol but as soon as I find some around these parts I will go back.
