I agree that it is (probably) worth holding out until you can get some 2400. I love to shoot it in my .357 Magnum, 17.0 grains pushing a 125-grain JHP. The only side effect is that I occasionally will flinch horribly after shooting 30-50 rounds of these but they are FUN!!!!!!
And 2400 is a very flexible powder, too- you can throttle back to quite docile loads (always per the books, though) and not worry about squibbery.
